Summary
A brand new opportunity for an astute and inquisitive Science graduate with strong data interpretation and statistical analysis skills, to join one of the UK's leading specialist Pharmaceutical companies. This is an intellectually engaging and challenging office-based role, to manage large and complex sets of data gathered from laboratory reports and clinical trials and to support pioneering drug development projects.
The Company
A pioneering Pharmaceutical organisation specialising in the treatment and prevention of allergies. Their unique focus is on the vaccination and prevention of conditions such as hay fever and asthma, and their groundbreaking work has been in the UK press. The company prides itself on its staff development, training and morale, and this role is a fantastic opening for someone who is looking to be based on the South Coast and further their career in Pharmaceutical Development with a varied, dynamic and fun challenge.
The Role
This company has a healthy, ongoing clinical development pipeline. With all of this ongoing work, there are a lot of data to be checked, refined, documented and investigated. These data are gathered from international clinical trials (where the drugs are being tested on volunteers and patients), as well as from internal Stability tests that are conducted in the Development labs.
You will be responsible for managing and interpreting large amounts of data, looking at general trends, particularly using Excel. This role will not involve highly advanced statistical analysis, but more a keen eye for detail and the ability to present findings in a clear, concise way, using graphs and tables. In other words, you will explore standard deviations, coefficients of variation, degrees of significance etc. You will have to meet timelines for regulatory submissions, and provide critical review and assessment of development-related information.
Benefits
- 25 days’ holiday
- Private health cover
- Life insurance
- Discretionary annual bonus
Experience
The successful candidate will be very proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel, with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage their own workload to specific timescales. A scientific degree (or equivalent) will be a distinct advantage, though candidates will also be considered with a Maths or Statistics background, as long as they can demonstrate an aptitude for working with Scientific data. You will be someone who gets on well with others and has first-rate communication skills, both written and verbal, and you will need a keen interest in science and pioneering new drug treatments.
A Biochemistry background, or similar, would be particularly advantageous; though it must be stressed that this is not a lab-based position.
