The Sales Manager will report to the Head of Sales and will have two main responsibilities:

Managing and leading a team of Business Development Managers. The team covering areas in the south of the UK are based in the reed.co.uk office in London. There are also a number of team members based regionally in the north of the UK.

Account Managing some of the UK's biggest and best known employer brands. This is a client facing position where the successful candidate will be responsible for managing existing reed.co.uk clients, developing the relationships with these clients, renewing them and where possible up selling.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Drive advertising revenues and be responsible for the team's periodic and yearly targets and leading the team towards period by period and year on year growth.
  • Team management - Conduct periodic reviews with team members ensuring adherence to KPIs and company standards including use of Salesforce and call systems. Identifying development opportunities for team members and members of the wider sales teams to enable cross team working. In addition act as a mentor, coach and conduct team training when needed to ensure team development and growth.
  • Forecasting and other reporting as required by Head of Sales, Sales Director and wider business
  • Proactive involvement in the recruitment for team vacancies.
  • Conduct in-depth needs analysis with key accounts and match requirements to reed.co.uk products.
  • Confidently demonstrate reed.co.uk's products and conduct on-site training with clients where necessary.
  • Maintain business relationships with contracted clients to ensure continued utilisation of reed.co.uk and identify opportunities to sell further products or solutions.
  • Write contracts and proposals that conform to agreed standards.
  • Negotiate contract pricing within agreed limits ensuing that all business won meets agreed margins.
  • Respond to customer enquiries/requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Manage team pipeline to ensure true forecasting.
  • Meet and exceed team sales targets and KPIs.
  • Attend networking events and industry awards ceremonies (where appropriate) to build personal portfolio and the reed.co.uk brand.

  • Demonstrable background in field sales management ideally within online media
  • Track record in people management with proven ability to lead and grow successful sales teams
  • Excellent account manager who can build long lasting client relationships
  • Consultative sales representative who is comfortable with asking for the business
  • Proven track-record of consistent achievement of sales KPIs and sales targets
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal skills and an ability to interact with a diverse range of people
  • Results driven, motivated and passionate about sales
  • Strong commitment to personal excellence, self disciplined, well presented and resourceful with excellent attention to detail and time management skills
