A prestigious publishing house are currently looking to expand their team and are offering the right person a great opportunity to be part of a Sales role with a difference. You will be required to sell advertising for their trade journal to industry professionals on a global scale, this will be predominantly over the phone but also face to face. On occasion, you will also need to visit trade exhibitions at various locations in Europe. Due to this being a publication, the close of sales will need to be done within a tight timeframe, you will need to be strategic in your approach, highly organised and able to multi-task.
The successful applicant will need to have a proven background in business to business sales and demonstrate strong communication skills over the phone, face to face and in written form (persuasive emails). You will often need to work on your own initiative in addition to working well as part of a small team. Good negotiation skills are essential, as well as the ability to understand client's needs. The salary will be dependent upon experience and will be paid in addition to a commission element. You will need to have a full UK driving licence and a current passport. Hours will be 9am-5.30pm Mon-Fri except when visiting clients or exhibitions.
