Sales Accounts Manager required within the Sales department of a leading Brand. Based in the Midlands or North England, you will have experience, on a national basis, within the Food Service sector. You will be responsible for managing existing client business and for developing new business through the UK and Ireland. Promoting and managing Key Accounts with the support of a highly motivated and dedicated sales team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide information to assist in the preparation of annual sales forecasts and expenditure budgets.
- Identify, contact and open discussions with prospective new customers.
- Discuss and agree a set of objectives, and distribution and sales targets, with distributors.
- Implement the program of marketing and promotional activities.
- Manage day-to-day contact with Key Accounts.
- Enter all meeting reports and contact on the CRM system.
- Liaise on a day-to-day basis with the sales team, to ensure that they are fully briefed and able to fulfill their roles effectively.
KEY DUTIES
- Prepare monthly reports, measuring sales performance against budget for both companies for all lines, and commenting on variations.
- Review and evaluate distributors’ performance against the agreed objectives and targets.
- Make recommendations for changing a distributor, and outline the benefits and risks.
- Keep detailed records of pricing and other terms agreed with key Accounts.
- Prepare a promotional program to support key Accounts, discuss and agree the program with them, and manage its implementation.
- Analyse and evaluate the outcome of the in-person visits and promotional activities.
- Ensure that Key Accounts are kept up-to-date at all times with information on new products, price increases, and PR.
- Report any requests by Key Accounts for samples and information.

- Within an agreed T&E budget, visit frequently current and prospective Key Accounts.
- Within the agreed T&E budget, attend trade and customer shows.
- Ensure all new accounts are set up on the system with the correct information, and a new account form is completed and signed.
- Ensure all information held on the system that relates to your responsibilities and duties is up-to-date.
- Assist the accounts departments in collecting money owed by customers.
SKILLS
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in key account management.
- Experience in managing retail & food service distributors.
- Sound knowledge of the UK & Irish retail and Food Service sectors market.
- Computer literate - ability to use Word and Excel to a good standard.
- Ability to work well within a team or on an individual basis
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Confidently persuasive.
