We have an excellent opportunity for a Safety Engineer for our Aberdeen based client:-
Performance of Health, Safety and Environment activities in support of the company’s objective.
Reviewing occupational health, safety and environmental legislation and, in conformance with company policies, preparing management procedures.
Preparing and delivering briefing and training materials for the implementation of new procedures and the reinforcement of existing control arrangements.
Maintaining arrangements for onshore response in support of emergency management at the Company’s offshore sites.
Maintaining emergency arrangements for the Base Office.
Assisting in the Maintaining of Operational Safety Cases and associated documentation.
Assisting in the preparation of combined operations notices.
Assisting in the review of workpacks and requests for modifications.
Identifying HSE training requirements, including those associated with emergency preparedness and response, and to ensure these requirements are adequately covered.
Co-ordinating occupational health, safety and environmental practices across Company work sites to achieve uniformity of approach.
Co-ordinating occupational health, safety and environmental arrangements with the Company’s contractors, vendors, clients and corporate HSEQ.
Ensuring with line management that effective systems and controls are in place for the management of health, safety and environment matters.
Monitoring appropriate key performance indicators to help ensure that a trend of continuous improvement in HSEQ performance is maintained. Preparing HS&E performance reports and issue in a timely manner.
Supporting the HSEQ Manager in ensuring that clear HSEQ objectives are set and reviewed periodically with line management and that plans are in place to achieve these objectives.
Providing advice, support and guidance to offshore HSE professionals.
Provide advice, support and guidance to onshore discipline engineers and asset team.
Providing support to offshore operations on all HSE issues including advice on chemical, physical, operational and environmental hazards and advice on hazard identification and risk analysis/assessment techniques.
Preparing HS&E performance records and summary reports and to monitor the close out of remedial actions.
To prepare and update Company improvement plans.
To support the implementation of the company’s environmental management system
Identifying safety problems and initiating, recommending and providing solutions.
Assisting in the answering of Offshore Queries.
Assisting in the review of workscopes and specific procedures.
Assisting with the preparation and implementation of corporate procedures.
Taking part and when necessary chairing and leading HAZOPs/HAZIDs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in relevant engineering discipline or equivalent
Combined Survival / Fire-fighting /HUET
UK Oil & Gas Medical Certificate
Minimum Industry Safety Training
Experience: Previous oil and gas experience or experience in an industrial or process environment
