This fast growing company is looking for experienced Support Workers to work in a residential home for Youung Adults 16+. You must have previous experience and knowledge of working with youth, youth offenders with challenging behaviour, drug and alcohol misusers and have minimum of NVQ Level 2 within care.
Main Purpose
To work as part of a team offering a comprehensive residential service to the users. To prepare and ensure that young people are systematically supported and prepared for leaving care through an enhancement of their independent living and life skills within a culturally diverse environment. The aim being to ensure the physical, social and emotional care, and development of the residents and the establishment.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- to carry out duties in line with the companies policies and procedures
-to work as a key worker to the young person/persons
-to undergo risk assessments, care planning, key working, report writing on a daily basis taking care that information is accurate
-to work to meet the needs of young people using the "Every Child Matters Agenda including
be healthy, stay safe, enjoy and achieve, make a positive contribution, achieve econimic wellbeing
-to have excellent written and communication skills
-to promote structure, boundaries and domestic routines within the home
-to work in line with young people's care plan
-to work in accordance with CQC standards and co-operate with any inspection process
- to provide a positive role model for the young people presenting yourself in a highly professional manner
- to work in partnership with other agencies to the benefit of the young people
- to undertake relevant training programmes as required by the Company
- to complete and maintain administrative records as required by the home
- to provide and participate in the leisure activities in line with the care and placement plans of the users
- to work in partnership with colleagues and other professionals to meet the social, emotional, education, health and mental health needs of young people
-to undergo all necessary duties in relation to the smooth running of the home
-to work within an equalities framework and cover for other staff as appropriate
-to attend reviews of the assigned young people and to encourage their participation and advocate on their behalf as needed
-to complete and send weekly/monthly reports electronically each week and month
-to attend regular supervision meetins on time and be fully prepared
-to attend regular tgraining and programmes of development to update professional skills
-to act at all times in accordance with the Companies policies and procedures. To ensure all services provided are within an equalities framework.
-to support young people by attending such meetings as housing, employment,education training, budgeting and benefits.
-to support and encourage young people to keep their placement clean and tidy
-to accompany young people to official or legal visits as required
-to ensure you liaise and forward information concerning the young person, their social worker and social work department
-to implement the identified tasks in the Pathway Plan
-to be abreast of the contents of the feedback form from the young people
-to undertake other duties consistent with the basic objectives and or duties of the post.
