Reporting to the FIDIC Engineer, the Engineers Representative is responsible for the administration of Construction Contracts for the Power Station Project.
This project is being undertaken by International Construction Companies, using world-class construction resources, to complete this high quality construction project to a high standard of safety to time and against an agreed budget.
The FIDIC Engineers Representatives will be required to administer the contracts from completion of the procurement process through to handover to the generation of power and Commercial Operations , including project initiation, contractor and stakeholder management, design reviews, safety, site and team management, project controls, QA/QC, commissioning and start-up.
The Engineers Representative is responsible for continuous improvement of construction project execution processes through the active use of world-class practices, including development and implementation of standardized processes, systems, and tools which assist with on-time, execution of these construction packages.
Experience:
The ideal candidate will have more than 15 years’ experience with a blend of technical/engineering roles and leadership experience in large scale construction projects with a strong track record of demonstrating the capability of managing international projects in the position of a FIDIC Engineer or Employers Representative.
This person will demonstrate a thorough understanding of construction technologies and engineering
design for high quality major projects with an emphasis on the Power Sector or multi package major infrastructure/building services projects.
The candidate is expected to have achieved an academic standard that has led to the membership of a Professional organisation.
The candidate will have been the leader of a project at some point in their career, and have a broad understands of all aspects of construction from engineering to operation including a commercial understanding of the FIDIC construction contracts.
Nationality is not important although there must be an appreciation of the various cultural and language challenges that will be presented by the diversity associated with working in an International environment. Experience working successfully in Africa, the Middle East and/or Asia would be an example of the candidates experience in this aspect of the position.
This person will therefore have a clear track record of successfully completing large construction projects (more than US$100million per project) and must have a thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction management processes and success factors in transitioning construction projects from the construction phase to operations
