Organisation Description
The Reporting & Technical Assistant Controller will support the team in accurate and timely financial reporting of consolidated group results in line with US requirements (180 entities, ca. 80 countries, multicurrency) and helps partner the business in making decisions that are sound from both a commercial and financial perspective. In particular, to provide financial guidance on business acquisitions and other technical accounting matters.
Job Description
• Support commercial and operations leaders/teams to understand financial/accounting implications of transactions and other matters by providing expertise and technical accounting guidance.
• Work closely with financial and operational leadership to pro-actively assess and manage financial risk
• Research and advise on complex technical accounting issues
• Lead Controllership integration processes for new acquisitions including; initial due diligence prior to acquisition, purchase accounting post acquisition and forming strong relationships with the newly acquired business
• Partner with Audit Staff for internal compliance reviews. Drive closure of open audit issues and proactively work to prevent future issues / manage risk. Lead resulting corrective action process implementation and follow up throughout the organization
• Provide leadership and drive to corporate initiatives, significant simplification & integration projects.
• Provides partnership & guidance to Controllership teams & other finance functions (FP&A, Supply Chain etc) on close and reporting matters
• Help drive consistent and effective policies and procedures in the Reporting process
• Perform financial analysis of balance sheet accounts to ensure compliance, integrity of account balances/financial reporting and effectiveness of business processes
• Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) for operational and transactional processes impacting the financial statements, including closing, reporting and analysis
• Ensure appropriate Internal Controls in place, in line with local statutory laws and US GAAP, and critically examine potential issues where financial risks & opportunities may be drawn out
Person Specification
To be considered for this role you will be a qualified accountant, perhaps making a first move from practice with relevant technical accounting experience.
This is a high profile role so as well as technical reporting skills you will have sound partnering and people skills.
Package £55 – 65k plus £6k car and 15% bonus
