Our Client is embarking on a new and exciting project, providing high quality care and support packages for young people leaving care or who are homeless.
They are currently recruiting a Relief Project Worker to assist in all the core tasks within the remit of the support to provide for the physical, health, emotional and social needs of the people supported, and in assisting them to fulfil the aims of their individual care plan
Main duties will be carried out working shifts allocated, which will include weekends, evenings and sleep in duties and support Workers will be supported by suitably experienced staff. A number of flexible hours may be spent attending meetings, staff meetings, supervision, annual appraisals, training and reviews. In undertaking activities with the young people and service users, you will, as appropriate, have use of the vehicle if one is available.
The objectives are to successfully complete the Group’s induction and to fulfil the project worker accountabilities to a standard complying with the National Minimum Standards for Placements North West and Children and Young People Leaving Care .
Experience Required;
- Ability to undertake the full range of tasks, in a well planned way that respects and values the young people as individuals.
- Experience of working with young people and service users who are looked after and awareness of their rights and needs
- Experience of working with or within statutory, voluntary agencies and other settings.
Qualifications required;
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills, NVQ 2. Ability to gain NVQ level 3 within time scales set by Employer
- Young people/child care experience
- Knowledge of the National Minimum Standards
- Supporting young people in their own homes or care setting
Desirable Qualifications;
- DipSW, CQSW, CSS, NVQ level 3 or equivalent, or NVQ 2, in Children and Young People or Youth Work
