Release Engineer
West London
£33,000 - £46,000 plus excellent benefits
My client is a leading software house in the gambling and online gaming sector. Their West London office is a state of the art purpose built glass construction boasting a lake and waterfall outside. On the inside they offer a dress down environment, open-plan airy development area with multiple scrum areas. There are chill out areas with pool tables, table football, games consoles and sofas. They also have an onsite gym and swimming pool which you get at a subsidised rate. Their environment is designed to get the very best out of their developers.
Responsibilities
• Provides day-to-day customer liaison and is responsible for change and release management.
• Support development teams by reviewing, merging code and deploying repeatable builds to both test and live environments.
• Tracking and adding changes through Release Notes and Release Reports.
• Work with the Environment teams to maintain test and build environments.
• Handle defect management along with the Technical Leads.
• Responsible for improving both the build process and branching convention.
• Work with the test team to integrate continuous integration into the build process
The candidate must have
• Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
• Familiarity developing on Unix/Linux
• A proven history of handling concurrent releases preferably in an Agile environment
• Experience using version control systems (Subversion, CVS, etc.)
