Reed Nurse is very pleased to be placed as lead suppliers for the supply of registered nurses for NHS Direct. If you are looking for unrivalled variety and the opportunity to provide help when it’s needed most then look no further.
Working alongside existing Band 5 and 6 Nurse Advisors, you will provide clinical assessments to patients over the telephone that is in need of healthcare advice and assistance. With more than 25,000 people contacting NHS Direct each day it’s a fast-moving and challenging environment, but you will have all the support needed to enable you to develop remote clinical assessment skills and deliver high standards of clinically effective patient care.
NHS Direct will provide a comprehensive full time induction programme which will train you in all aspects of the service including the use of the NHS Direct Clinical Assessment System which will support you in establishing the needs of our callers and in providing timely and clinically effective advice, assessment or appropriate onward referral. All nurses must be able to work full time during the induction programme which lasts 5 weeks.
NHS Direct is a 24/7 service. And are at their busiest during the out of hours period, the successful candidate will be required to work mainly unsocial hours, including weekends evenings/nights as well as Bank Holidays.
There will be an assessment that all candidates will need to attend should they be shortlisted and details will be given to you at interview.
