Registered Fostering Manager

4Social Work has an exciting Registered Manager position that has become available within Fostering Services we are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to work within a challenging yet rewarding role for our client based in Hertfordshire      

This is a temporary to permanent position

Duties May Include:
As a registered Manager your main duties for this position will include the following:

• Overall responsibility for the day-to-day running ensuring excellent practice across the Agency
• Development the Agency further by recruiting a range of skilled foster carers
• Leading recruitment for potential foster carers, formulating and implementing strategies for marketing
• Overlooking Initial Home Visits to potential foster carers
• Allocating Form F Assessment and monitoring progress and time-scales
• Responsibility for foster carers and staff training and development programme
• Ensure foster carers and staff members have copies of policies and procedures relevant to fostering service and monitoring of the implementation of these policies
• Regular liaison with the Panel Chair and Registered Individual and plan on practice issues highlighted
• Sole responsibility in approving/not approving potential foster carers
• Subsequent to Panel recommendations
• Formulating and implementing a system for reporting and dealing with performance
• Ensure records of staff, foster carers and children/young people are up-to date

It is essential that you are a Registered Manager who meets the following criteria for this position:

• Able to satisfy Ofsted as a Registered Manager (Fostering Services Regulations 2011)
• Recognised and accredited social work qualification
• Proven staff management experience and leadership skills including recruitment, supervision, monitoring and disciplinary
• Proven Knowledge of Ofsted, National Minimum Standards for Fostering services and Fostering Services Regulations
• Excellent communication and administrative skills
• Budgeting and financial control capabilities
• Ability to run the day-to-day practice and business aspects of the fostering agency
• Negotiating and making placements with Local Authorities
• Strong leadership skills to implement the vision and strategy of the agency
• Have or be willing to complete NVQ Level 5 in Leadership
• Ability to review and monitor outcomes and make sound and safe decisions in all aspects of running the Agency
• Ability to work as part of a team as well as own initiative with consistent self motivation
• A high level of applied literacy and numeracy
• An ability to maintain judgement when working under pressure
• Proven ability to plan and priorities workloads
• Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately at all levels both orally and in writing
• Ability to provide reports on a monthly / yearly basis
• Ability to liaise and negotiate on a business level

Please note that this is a qualified position so you will need a social work degree/masters or equivalent, be GSCC registered and have relevant experience for this role. Any applications received without meeting these minimum criteria will not be considered.
