£28,179 - £35,425 + benefits

A specialist therapeutic provider of education and residential care for children who have suffered severe early life traumas are looking to recruit a Home Manager for a residential home near Walsall, West Midlands.

The purpose of this role:

  • ensure that the Home meets the standards and expectations of its Statement of Purpose
  • safeguard and promote the welfare of young people and to ensure that the quality of care provided is consistent with National Minimum Standards
  • establish and maintain a competent, motivated and confident staff team and to offer leadership, managerial direction, guidance and support to staff at all levels
  • ensure that the Home’s policies and procedures are adhered to and that resources are managed effectively
  • develop systems for the efficient administration of the Home and to ensure that the fabric of the Home, equipment, appliances and grounds are maintained to the highest order in accordance with Health and Safety requirements
  • be the responsible person in managing child protection concerns and complaints liaise with Local Authorities, School, Health and other professionals to achieve best outcomes for young people
  • actively promote the Home’s equal opportunity and anti-discriminatory practice policies.
  • support regional manager/director and fellow colleagues in cross regional projects and developments.

The successful candidate will have NVQ4/5 Social Care qualification or equivalent, along with managerial experience of working with young people. A Foundation Degree in Therapuetic Childcare would give you a distinct advantage but is not essential. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Manager interested in joining a leading specialist social care provider.
