Wishlist* is looking for a Reconciliations Specialist for a managerial opportunity within a highly sought after Investment company. Applicants should demonstrate a considerable depth of Reconciliation Controls & Treasury Systems exposure, ideally from within the Financial Services sector.

This role will take responsibility for the Reconciliations & Controls Team, which consists of a talented group of people who are responsible for all aspects of cash and unit reconciliations.

Duties include the following:

  • Overseeing the maintenance of full monthly bank reconciliations of the accounts. 
  • Investigating process issues and suggesting/ implementing new procedures where necessary.
  • Ensuring the team's reconciliations are compliant with FSA and trustee procedures. 
  • Managing a growing team; daily supervision, carrying out assessments, arranging training, recruitment and other staff related matters. 
  • Overseeing and monitoring the distribution processing at nominee and investor level. 
  • Liaison with investment managers, designated stockbroker and other associated third party providers to resolve escalated and complex issues.
  • Overseeing and checking and processing payment of invoices. 
  • Ensuring the team resolution of bank reconciliation items in a timely manner.
  • Liaising with external inspectors and auditors. 
  • Reporting to the Operations Manager with financial reporting and analysis. Carrying out related investigation work.

Experience & Competencies:

  • Thorough knowledge of bank reconciliations and controls through previous experience in a similar role.
  • Experience of working within the Financial Services industry with understanding of FSA Regulations would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Strong attention to detail and levels of accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a flair for building relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of team goals.
  • Proven management/ supervisory experience.
  • Strong understanding of treasury systems and excellent numeracy skills. 
  • The commitment, drive and tenacity to achieve high standards of excellence.
