We are currently recruiting for an experienced individual who will pick up the reigns for someone going on maternity leave shortly until January 2013. Based in east Kent, you will be a good all-rounder specialising in Quantity Surveying and Buying with main contractor experience.
The role involves taking full control of projects that have been secured and booked from post contract quantity surveying works and buying in of all materials ensuring that you negotiate the best rates with suppliers whilst working to deadlines. You will be required to liaise with the operational side regarding supplies due in for the projects. As projects progress, you will be expected to carry out surveys and make applications for payment through to final account stage.
The ideal candidate will have experience in contracts, costing reconciliation, Quantity Surveying, Buying - especially within the construction industry. Experience of keeping within tight budgets and excellent organisational skills will be paramount to a successful application.
You will be commercially astute and educated to HND in Construction Management or similar. Owing to the nature of the contract - candidates will ideally be available to commence this role immediately.
A driving licence and own transport is essential.
