Quality Manager (Food)

As Quality Manager you will be responsible for all quality assurance, NPD, specifications, raw material, agronomy and hygiene at our Gretna site, in line with HACCP and BRC for a product range including vegetables and puree manufacturing.

The Quality Manager Role

Reporting to the Site Operations Manager, you will be working as part of the site management team and will deliver clear direction to all technical functions. You will be responsible for leading all the activities relating to food quality standards across the site ensuring that we maintain the Company’s BRC certification, its food safety / quality systems, hygiene standards and due diligence.

As site Quality Manager you will manage and maintain the technical relationship with customers and suppliers providing support and advice regarding our products and activities.

Being the principle person at the site you will be responsible for Food Safety and be an integral member of the crisis management system.

Your experience and Qualifications

You will have needed to have had prior experience of working in fresh produce / chilled product environments, coupled with having an established and qualified knowledge of microbiology. You will have Advanced Food Safety and Food Hygiene Qualifications, auditing experience and either
Intermediate or Advanced HACCP is preferred. Ideally you will be a confident communicator, show tenacity and commitment and you will be able to demonstrate that you are results driven,
with strong customer service skills.


Although this role is based in Gretna you will report to the Head of Technical ,who is based at our head quarters in Bedfordshire, and will be required to travel down to this site on a monthly basis.

You will need to have experience of HACCP, BRC, audits, quality assurance, microbiological monitoring, and be located in Gretna, Scotland, near Carlisle.
