A multi-million pound technology company operating in the transport industry who are a front runner in their sector require a Parts Quality Engineer to join their team
Quality Engineer
Salary: £25,000 - £30,000
Location: Hampshire (Commutable from Gosport, Southampton, Isle of Wight, Fareham, Portsmouth, Winchester and Havent)
The Role
The main purpose of the role is to undertake quality assurance for engineering components before they are distributed out to depots across the country and will involve the following tasks:
- Sample inspection and audit of suppliers
- Preparation and testing of engineering parts and components
- Process warranty claims
- Conduct route cause analysis of product failures
- Monitoring and reporting on warranty and failure trends
- Continuous improvement and waste reduction
- Supplier Approval to support sourcing new suppliers
This is a fixed term contract of 12 months with the potential opportunity of permanent employment
The Person
Applications are sought from Quality Engineers and Quality Technicians who have a good understanding of engineering parts within a manufacturing or aftermarket spare parts environment and possess the following skills/attributes:
Sound understanding of engineering/manufacturing techniques
City & Guilds/HND/NVQ Qualification in engineering or a similar technical discipline.
Excellent IT skills such as SAP/MRP, MS Office, email and internet.
Ability to work autonomously
Good communication skills to deal with external customers and suppliers.
