Job Description

Purchasing and Research & Development administration.

Chrisanne is a world leading supplier to the Ballroom Dance world and we supply couture dresses, dancewear and a dazzling array of fabrics and trimmings to dressmakers and dancers around the world from our headquarters in Mitcham in South West London.

The business is growing and we need another person to join our active Purchasing and Product development team. This team constantly monitors market trends and sources top quality products from around the world to meet the needs of performance costume makers in every continent.

This position will handle all the purchasing administration relating to stock management and placing orders with suppliers. In addition we want someone with a sharp commercial eye, a flair for market trends and what customers will be excited by, and the ability to keep on top of detail. You will work closely with our warehouse and our sales team as well as suppliers, and will attend dance events and trade fairs to help you keep up with market developments. If you show that you can handle it, you will get as much responsibility as you can take to manage product ranges and take real commercial decisions.

Person Specification

Professional background - experience in Purchasing/Buying and Purchasing administration, ideally in a role where you are market and customer driven, and with a fashion element

Experience of purchasing and stock management of textiles from Far East and European suppliers an advantage

Team Player, thrives under pressure

Reliable, able to prioritise, good attention to detail

Desire to give good customer service

Minimum two years purchasing experience

Analytical and commercially focussed.

Salary £20,000-£22,000 depending on experience
