Job Description
Reed Recruitment are currently seeking a project support officer on behalf of a local body, committed to helping vulnerable children achieve their full potential.
The purpose of this role is to offer support to familes and children affected by drug misuse, and the main duties of this post will concern the provision of direct services to children and young people who have been affected by parental substance abuse.
Core tasks will include:
* raising awareness of childrens issues, providing information through liaison and collaborative work with other professionals
* contributing to the assessment of children with emotional and behavioural difficulties
* involvement with other social sources to provide the best possible support
* maintainence of work records in accordance with professional social work practice
* contribution to opportunities on behalf of families and children
* provision of intervention for parents and children
* conducting risk assessments
You will have a relevant third level qualification
(Psychology, Sociology, Childhood Studies, Youth and Community work or Education)
AND one years post qualification experience of working with children and families in a formal setting
OR a relevant NVQ 3 in caring for children and Young People or Childcare and Education
and two years post qualification experience of working with children and families in a formal setting.
This is a temporary, full time position.
Candidates will be expected to hold enhanced access N.I. Clearance dated within the last year.
