Are you looking for a new role within a nationwide charity which offers specialist services and human support to deafblind people and those who have progressive sight and hearing loss acquired throughout their lives?
Your role as Project Officer, on this project funded by the National Lottery through the Big Lottery Fund, will be to initiate, develop and co-ordinate up to 4 deafblind groups throughout East Anglia. You will identify, recruit and support deafblind people to be involved with the peer support groups. You will be responsible for providing casework support for deafblind people and recruiting and managing volunteers to support the project. As the project progresses, the volunteers’ roles will grow and they will take on more responsibility for running the peer support groups.
You will have proven experience of working with people who have a disability, setting up groups and managing projects. An effective time manager, you will have excellent communication and administration skills.
