My client, a specialist in construction and explosive ordnance disposal, is looking for a project manager on a permanent basis. It is essential that candidates have explosive ordnance disposal experience.
Reporting to the Operations Manager and responsible for the overall planning of UK and European projects to enable the project to run efficiently, as scheduled and with the required profit margin.
Main accountabilities will include:
The ideal candidate would have experience that would be predominately ex-military Explosive Ordnance Disposal, and good overall planning and project management skills with at least intermediate IT skills.
This role really needs a very organised person, with a good sense of humour who works well under pressure and enjoys working in a fast paced environment.

- The identification and allocation of competent operators and technical support to enable projects to have the relevant man power and direction to achieve the desired outcome within budget and timescale set.
- To lead, manage, support, motivate and develop the team to enable staff to perform to the required standard and maintain overall operational efficiency
- To control the quality of all project documentation and correspondence to ensure that it meets the required standards.
- To act as a primary point of contact for clients, colleagues and external bodies, throughout the duration of projects to ensure consistency for the client and the timely resolution of all queries.
- Negotiate with suppliers and sub-contractors to secure a good price and/or service provision to reduce costs.
- Ensure quality control measures are in place and are carried out throughout the duration of a project to ensure the required standards are met.
- Ensure compliance of all Environmental and Health and Safety matters throughout the duration of a project to ensure all procedures are followed.
