Project Manager (Software Development)

Due to expansion, a successful global organisation is looking for a suitable and enthusiastic Project Manager with the experience to lead on critical IT development projects. The successful Project Manager should have experience in managing and delivering high profile and high impact IT related projects within scope and to tight timescales.
The Project Manager will ensure the delivery of the change programme by driving the solution through the full project lifecycle. The right candidate will have the ability to analyse business requirements and in conjunction with the technical teams propose a robust technical solution. You will ensure effective delivery of all objectives with a specific emphasis on IT system development projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- A proven track record of successful project implementation in a IT services environment
- Comfortable matrix managing multiple project teams
- Experience of running projects with remote (offshore) business teams
- Experience of the whole project life cycle, able to operate in the initial requirements gathering and conceptual design stage, in the depths of system testing, and at each stage in between
- Experience of running multiple concurrent projects
- Formal project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE 2) Identify and pull together the workplan tasks required to be resolved, by whom and in which logical order (i.e. the critical path)
- Work proactively with the project board on the identification and resolution of risks, issues and project exceptions to the required timescale
- The ability to initiate process and drive through adoption.
- Develop a proportionate delivery plan of the highest quality and effectiveness that will facilitate the delivery of the system development to schedule and scope.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Good understanding of project management methodology and best practice (e.g. PRINCE2).
- Evidence of the use of MS Office products, including MS Project and Excel, or similar project control tools.
- Excellent, clear communication skills are required for this role.
- Ability to influence teams in a positive manner to create a cohesive and productive working environment.
- Able to bridge the Gap between technical teams and the business.
- The successful Project Manager is likely to have a client facing background with strong technical skills.
- To be suitable for this Project Management role, you will be comfortable working in an environment where technologies are being planned, specified, designed, deployed and supported.
- The Project Manager will have excellent risk and issue management, change and governance skills and experience.
- Knowledge of Agile project management techniques preferably SCRUM.
Skills, Knowledge and Personal Attributes:
- The ability to communicate complex subjects clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing using appropriate language.
- Best practice Project Management processes.
- Excellent inter-personal and Administration skills.
- Excellent MS Office skills including MSP and Excel.
