Project Manager - Japanese Speaking - Leeds

thebigword are looking for a Japanese speaking Project Manager based from their Leeds Head Office to strengthen their team due to continued growth.

thebigword Group is a world-leading International language management group supplying translation, interpreting and language technology services to a wide range of global clients across 77 countries including household-name multinationals and public-sector bodies.  With a growth of 40% every year for the past 3 years, we are one of the Sunday Times International Track 100 private companies.           

This is a challenging role based from our Leeds office, requiring a combination of project management, linguistic and IT skills to successfully deliver projects to many high profile clients.

We require an experienced Japanese speaking professional to join an existing projects team. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Management and co-ordination of translators, software engineers and DTP specialists
  • Planning, scheduling and monitoring the progress of multiple projects
  • Effective communication with clients to ensure customer satisfaction Basic awareness of HTML/XML

Skills and experience required:

  • Degree level education.(or equivalent work experience)
  • Fluent in Japanese to near native level
  • Client facing experience
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • High level of IT literacy
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Problem-solving skills

Desirable

  • Minimum of 1 years translation/localization industry experience
  • Language degrees and MA qualifications welcomed

Salary £20,000 - £22,000 plus commission after initial 3 months
