Your job will be to:
• Project manage the development and the delivery of the channel shift projects
• Identify and engage with key stakeholders (Heads of Service, local community, community & faith groups, local service providers) in developing and regularly updating a vision and plan for the delivery of channel shift in the appropriate services and functions, utilising additional capital and revenue resources where possible.
• Lead the technical development and preparation of key documents including outline and final business cases and the implementation plan ensuring that the project develops appropriately and is sustainable socially, economically and environmentally. Identify, at the appropriate time, the necessary in-house and external support (advice) necessary to support the delivery of these milestones.
• Lead the development and preparation of key Project Management documents including Project Plan, Risk analysis, Budget thereby delivering the project within acceptable parameters (to be agreed).
• Identify the delivery route for the project; work with the Business Change Managers, Customer Services Centre, Web Team, Civica, the ICT Client function and other LBC resources to deliver the design and implementation of the channel shifted services.
• Report on the project progress to the Head of Service, Project Sponsor, Project Board (to included appropriate stakeholders and cross political party representatives) and Major Projects Monitoring Group.
• You may need to attend meetings outside of normal working hours
You must have the following experience:
• Demonstrable experience of the successful management of projects in the public sector.
• Demonstrable experience in the management of a public sector customer service operation.
• ICT and in particular website development experience is desired
• Ability to analyse and interpret management information and prepare project plans, timing charts, summaries etc. from this.
• Substantial communications skills, including able to consult, influence and negotiate with a wide range of people both inside and outside of the Council;
• Ability to prepare and present reports and undertake formal presentations in a succinct and clear manner
• Ability to lead and motivate project implementation teams
• Able to work on own initiative with minimal supervision
You will need the following qualifications:
• A relevant professional level qualification or equivalent verifiable experience and training.
• Prince 2 Qualified
• Driving License and own transport
