The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists , initially on a 6 month contract , for an experienced Project Manager to project manage the implementation of strategic and tactical business initiatives, ensuring that projects are delivered to time, quality and cost. The purpose of this position is to provide project management expertise and operational support to the business. The job holder should be able to lead and / or contribute to all aspects of operational development and drive operations to work at industry best practice.
Job Requirements:
- To manage the progress of projects in a timely and effective manner ensuring delivery to the required standard
- To identify / analyse business needs and research and conduct feasibility studies in order to make recommendations for business improvement opportunities which underpin the overall strategy of the business
- To communicate the progress and status of projects to the project
- Executive and other members of the project team and act as part of steering groups as and when appropriate / required
- To carry out process reviews, recommend improvements and co-ordinate implementation and To identify and make recommendations on resources required to ensure the optimal implementation of future recommendations
- To seek opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Programme Management function
- Control the development and influence deployment of consistent processes (incl. governance) and preferred approach & methods throughout the
- Business change plan.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Preferably with a Degree or relevant alternative
Technical Competencies
- Prince 2 and MSP knowledge and experience essential
- IT background preferable
- Excellent understanding of change control, configuration processes, as well as risk management techniques
- Experience of delivery of medium/large-scale projects.
- Demonstrated ability to maximise the identified project/programme benefits in large multi-faceted corporate environments.
