Project Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Engineer. You will report into the Capital Projects Manager, and will be involved in managing the implementation of annual capital expenditure. As a member of the site engineering team you will be expected to have input and involvement in not just capital projects but be able to work with operations teams to drive the day to performance of the site.

Duties & Responsibilities

·        This role requires a combination of proactive and reactive skills to manage the ongoing requirements for project control
·        Responsible for planning and managing projects to improve working conditions, productivity, efficiency and quality.
·        Responsible for ensuring that the work carried out must be to the correct design and comply with all relevant legislation and UB standards, whilst remaining within the financial constraints of the budget.
·        Responsible for providing technical assistance and high-level faultfinding and rectification assistance during commissioning and when required as a back up to the engineering and operations teams.
·        Responsible for redesign and development work of under performing equipment and updating to deliver improvements both in operational efficiency and safety.
·        Creating and developing ongoing relationships with key suppliers to help facilitate lean manufacturing
·        Responsible for directly managing external contractors whilst on site so as to ensure full compliance with agreed method statements  

The Individual

You will have proven engineering experience, and ideally be degree qualified, although this is not essential.  You will have excellent leadership skills, and be capable of managing people whilst managing an external supplier base.
