Job Description

MAIN DUTIES:

Once the job is given to the Drawing office the Project Draughtsman picks up the job from a detailed and systematic handover with the estimating & contracts department & will then assume full responsibility for the projects in his control.
The  candidate will need to attend design meetings to obtain necessary information to progress with drawing preparation.
The candidate will need to raise RFI’s to Architects & engineers to enable drawing preparation to commence as well as replying to those issued to us.
They are responsible for overseeing & preparing drawings for customer’s approval, production & installation purposes to suit contract programme from architects & engineers drawings.
They oversee  & prepare material take off for procurement to suit contract programme, liaising with suppliers & subcontractors to meet specifications & lead times.
They ensure smooth running from receiving order to handover on site by managing the contract, maintaining programme & contract costing by recording back to customer any cost or programme implications throughout the project.
They have to maintain close co-ordination with contracts, production, logistics, & site by keeping up to date our database. They may also need to attend internal co-ordination meetings with these departments to report the status of their designated projects.
They check the work of other members of the drawing office.
