RMS Recruitment is acting as an employment business for our client based in Chester le Street Co Durham. Seeking several Progression Advisors toWork proactivelywith young peopleaged 16-19to inform them about opportunities, arrange interviews and follow up, liaising with opportunity providers to ensure successful placement into appropriate learning opportunities. Maintaining regular contact with young people who are not engaged in learning and recording all contacts with, or on behalf of young people, onto the IYSS client database. Contacting young people by telephone, in individual interview and group situations, in a variety of locations including One Point hubs and outreach venues. Main duties will include :

Working in a team to deliver targeted services to young people, with a focus on young people aged 16-19 who are not engaged in employment, education or learning.

Supporting and assisting young people, adult supporters and a range of partners so that young people can access opportunities to facilitate their progression.

Obtain information from young people and adult supporters regarding their current situation using agreed assessment processes (pre-CAF/CAF) to identify any needs and support into opportunities.

Supporting and assisting young people to provide information, advice and guidance, and refer to appropriate learning opportunities, ensuring that young people are supported throughout this process of progression into learning.

Liaise and maintain regular contact with opportunity providers and other professionals and services working with young people to ensure individual needs are met.

Record and input information into the IYSS database, maintaining accurate records and statistics electronically and where appropriate, manually.

Promote and comply with policies including Equal Opportunities, Health & Safety and Child Protection, ensuring through practice that were appropriate, these are understood by young people.

Be committed to the delivery of high quality services to young people, practising equality of opportunity, valuing diversity and challenging inappropriate views and behaviour where necessary.

It is essential all applicants hold a valid enhanced CRB disclosure, have experience working with young people, are able to demonstrate literacy and numeracy to NVQ level 3 or equivalent hold a Qualification in Information, Advice and Guidance to NVQ level 3 / 4 , are PC literate

Duration 20th May - 30th August 2013

Full time 37hrs per week 9.00am - 5.30pm
