Come and join a market leading design & manufacturing company who develop leading edge bespoke automation systems for a myriad of industry sectors. You will join as a Programme Manager responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and exceeding customer expectations. You must have a proven programme management background delivering hi tech Special Purpose Machinery / bespoke automation / instrumentation to customers in at least one of these sectors; Medical Devices, Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, FMCG, Food, Power Generation. Preferably Project Manangement tools knowledge sich as Prince 2 qualified.

Programme Manager (Automation/ Special Purpose Machinery), £45k - £60k North Yorkshire

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and exceeding customer expectations.
  • Define project scope, milestones and deliverables that support project goals in collaboration with senior management and the customer.
  • Direct and manage project development from beginning to end using appropriate tools
  • Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and customer in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Communicate with department managers for the acquisition of required resources from within the company.
  • Determine, assess and communicate the need for additional staff during the project cycle.
  • Monitor ongoing project costs and measure against budgets, recommend subsequent changes where necessary.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentations to management, team members and customer.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential delays, and devise contingency plans, notify relevant personnel and stakeholders of change to resources and additional costs.
  • Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a professionally qualified Programme Manager (preferably Prince2) with a background of delivering hi-tech Special purpose machinery / bespoke automation projects to the FMCG, Healthcare, Pharmaceutical, Food, Medical Devices, Power Generation markets.

You will need

  • A degree or vocationally educated (HNC, HND, apprenticeship) and would have a good understanding of engineering developed from a project management role.
  • Formal project management training such as PRINCE2 would be advantageous.
  • Background in Special Purpose Machinery / automation / Instrumentation / Medical Devices
  • Strong familiarity in the use of project management software such Microsoft scheduling and office tools.
  • Demonstrate experience in man management of multi disciplined teams.
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources including upper management, suppliers, customers and department heads.
  • Skills to prioritise and execute tasks in a high pressure environment.
  • Leadership Qualities - Ability to be the driving force in bringing complex multi-disciplined projects to a successful completion.
  • Customer centric approach in methods of work and personal values.

LOCATION: North Yorkshire (Commutable from leeds, York, Hull, Doncaster, Barnsley, Wakefield, Bradford)

SALARY: £45k - £60k Basic + Bens
