Location - London / Swindon

Salary - £40K - £55K

A subsidiary company of a large, global holding group, this world leading specialist marketing agency is seeking an experienced Marketing Programme Director.

The Role

Programme Director required to take responsibility for the strategic direction and profitable delivery of client projects. The role will be focusing on delivery of a number of EMEA channel and marketing communications projects for a leading blue chip technology client.

Owning strategic development of communications strategies to the reseller channel to achieve client goals and deliver against annual and quarterly channel programme success metrics - across multiple communications channels throughout EMEA.

Managing a large account team, in two locations, to ensure that the communications strategy is implemented in a timely and a cost effective manner.

Main Duties

To develop and retain strong client relationships:

  • Take responsibility of client relationship on specific projects in IT Channel initiative and programmes.
  • Provide primary representation of programme team within client environment to drive strategic and project operational goals.
  • Network and influence within client environment, both strategically and operationally, to understand business landscape and drive project goals, meet new contacts and seek new business opportunities.
  • Develop client business - existing and new projects.
  • Demonstrate tenacity and drive to ensure client and project goals are achieved.
  • Manage and direct a large team of direct reports to ensure that they are motivated to deliver effectively towards clients goals and in line with client agreed processes.
  • Manage the team across multiple locations remotely and onsite as required.
  • Take responsibility to ensure that the project teams are integrated via effective communications processes and meetings.

Staff management

  • Recruitment of account team staff and inductions.
  • Provide individual training and development plan for each member.
  • Coaching and appraisals.

Account Management

  • Head up and manage teams who will deliver the projects as agreed with the client and directed by the Group Account Director.
  • Develop marketing communications strategic across EMEA.
  • Ability to use data insight to uncover opportunities to influence behaviour and improve Marketing ROI.
  • Work with the worldwide teams to provide visibility of projects in EMEA and to share best practice.
  • Provide strategic input and direction for all projects (and project work streams) to Group Account Direct.
  • Contribute revenue/profit targets as agreed with Group Account Director.
  • Motivate team and demonstrate leadership qualities across the agency.
  • Encourage and foster 'best in class’ practice.

New Business

  • Participate in the generation of new business opportunities:
    • Identifying industry specific opportunities.
    • Attend and participate in credentials meetings.
    • Managing new leads through to confirmed business.
    • Proposal writing.

The Candidate

  • 6+ years working in a marketing agency environment, or within a client-side marketing environment within the tech sector.
  • Graduate or professional marketing qualifications.
  • Strategic thinking and execution.
  • Applied experience of channel marketing.
  • Applied experience of digital marketing.
  • Highly analytical - competent understanding of the dependency of data within marketing programmes, and understanding of best practices for working with and analysing data to derive business insight.
  • Proven project leadership skills through structured project management principles.
  • Proven track record of managing and working within a large team and understanding the complexities that that brings.
  • Proven track record of business development (and new business).
