An excellent high profile role has arisen with a highly reputable Utilities company in the south east. For this role We would expect to see that you have experience of
programmes made up of at least 50 projects and a combined cost of at least £70 million per annum
This role will require the successful candidate to Lead and motivate a team of Senior Contract Managers, Contract Managers and Complex Projects Managers who are managing significant programmes of work delivered through major engineering contracts, covering baseload, annual, reactive and complex projects.
You will be required to procure and deliver the programme of work to achieve the most cost-effective business solution in terms of cost, time and quality ensuring the delivery of best value solutions to customers.
Job Description
• Leadership of a proactive health, safety & environment culture across the programme ensuring the delivery of leading edge performance in the safe and sustainable delivery of capital projects including the subsequent operation and maintenance of the delivered assets.
• 9 direct reports, indirect reports over 1000
• Providing assured compliance with statutory obligations.
• A visible Health and Safety culture with direct reports and contractors in the programme.
• Lead and develop a highly performing commercially focussed contracts team achieving innovation, risk management and contract delivery to generate increasing profit for the business across the programme.
• Coordinate the procurement of annual programmes of work to prescribed timescales, managing the contracts to achieve best value for the business
• Actively promote a team culture with peers in Contract Management Office team supporting the development of strategies and tactics to deliver continuous improvement.
• Drive constantly improving business performance through the programme of work.
• Ensure project completion reviews are undertaken, to improve the development of future projects.
Person Specification
For this role you will need to be/have :
• Degree educated - A post-graduate business or project management qualification would be beneficial
• Have Chartered status
• Leadership – Understands and demonstrates key leadership principles, experience leading and positively evolving cultures internally and externally.
• Commercial awareness - Excellent experience in managing major engineering contracts and with strong influencing/negotiating skills.
• Project Management – A track record in project management with experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams.
• This role would ideally suit a string cross functional leader from a water background, or chemical, airport or nuclear background
