As Production Manager this role will see you control the day to day running of a specified production line(s) or area of the business to ensure Customer satisfaction, fulfilling delivery schedules and quality standards. Ensuring that all shifts operate to established quality, cost, safety and environmental standards, complying with prescribed procedures and methods. A ?hands-on-approach? is required with considerable time spent on the shop floor.

Main Duties:

Ensure that all plant, equipment and tools employed within your area are adequately maintained, by both autonomous and planned maintenance, to be capable of producing the quality and volumes of product required.

Train, motivate and control staff - Group Leaders, Cell Leaders and Operators to understand their roles and responsibilities. Recruit and discipline as necessary to build and maintain a capable, professional team. Cascade information, e.g. on quality, delivery, cost and safety issues through regular Shift and Team Briefs.

Be able to demonstrate to the Plant Manager that your area is under control, supplying any prescribed reports considered necessary, in a timely manner.

Report by exception to the Plant Manager on any foreseen problems where failure to achieve any of the prime objectives could occur.

The Person
This role will require an experienced Production/Process Manager who has worked within an FMCG manufacturing environment. Experience of managing a multifunctional team in a manufacturing/process environment.

You will have a robust understanding and ability to apply in live situations the principles and tools of lean manufacturing. Extensive knowledge & understanding of manufacturing processes. Thorough understanding of the people processes needed to build high performing teams. You will have the ability to identify and actively plan improvements. This role will certainly need someone who can demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to be successful in a changing environment.

This position offers a salary in the region of 45-50K. 25 day holiday + bank holidays. benefits for the role includes a contributory pension, BUPA, Car of Car Allowance and Life Assurane..
