The Company
Our client is a North East based manufacturing company who are looking for a Production Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.
The Role
- Reporting directly to the Managing Director you will be required to develop and implement the production plan to ensure that the daily, weekly and monthly KPI’s are met.
- The Production Manager will be responsible for the day to day running of the floor, managing people issues, coaching team members, ensuring Health and Safety and all quality is checked to our high standards.
- You will be required to standardise and improving the ways of working ensuring that the business has the right people with the rights skills deployed to achieve the production plans.
- This position requires a good people person with a passion for the business processes and production.
- Responsible for meeting customer(s) (internal & external) commitments ensuring that resources supplied including, labour, equipment, materials are utilised in a cost effective manner to meet the agreed on time delivery requirements.
- Manage the Key Account Managers to ensure production plans are in place and deadlines are hit.
- Manage the stock and wage is controlled.
- Ensuring the team are addressed each morning with the day’s priorities.
- Price and measuring work as and when required.
- Creating innovative solutions to ensure continuous improvements in productivity, quality, housekeeping, with clear processes mapped out.
- Having key skills and an excellent knowledge and understanding of Continuous Improvement, 5S Methodology and Lean techniques to recognise and eliminate waste for the improvement of processes in the business.
- Contribute and maintain key performance indicators in driving high standards GMP and general housekeeping.
- Ability to motivate and manage a team, and deal with challenging situations.
- Flexibility to ensure that production KPI are met.
The Person
- Previous production supervisory experience is vital for this position.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills

- Proactive and self motivated.
- Excellent presentation skills
- High levels of accuracy and manual dexterity
- Previous working experience in engineering company would be ideal.
- Must be able to translate concepts on to paper.
