Our client have been established for almost 50 years and specialise in the manufacture of bespoke special purpose machinery for supply to a range of industry sectors on a global basis. As a result of continued success and a planned program of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an articulate, dynamic and self motivated Production Assistant and Coordinator to complement their established and successful team.

Reporting to the Technical Director, the successful candidate will be tasked with the organisation and coordination of parts and production resources in order to ensure that agreed production targets are achieved on both a monthly and annual basis.

You will assist in reviewing master production schedules and works orders and effectively prioritise for specific customer requirements, and will revise schedules according to the capabilities of workers, parts, materials, machines and equipment, and will be responsible for issuing parts lists, scheduling deliveries, supplier liaison and operating the stock control system, so effective communication and organisational skills are essential for the position.

In addition to the development of master production plans, you will raise and issue internal works orders, parts lists and drawings to ensure targets are achieved, and will work closely with in house technical teams to ensure that both electrical schematic and mechanical design drawing are available when required. You will also develop and maintain the computerised stock control system / MRP to ensure that parts and materials are available as required.

You will be responsible for scheduling the delivery of bought-in parts to the agreed timeframe and will compile associated costing reports throughout the manufacturing process, liaising with customers to inform them of delivery updates whilst being committed to a continuous manufacturing improvement ethos that supports the clients' product design philosophy.

To be considered for this varied and challenging position, you will demonstrate at least 2 years experience of practical production engineering experience and will possess a relevant engineering qualification in production control. Familiarity with SAGE (or equivalent) MRP packages will be distinctly advantageous.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a suitably enthusiastic, organised and capable Production professional to develop their career within a stable and progressive environment, so if you feel you have the relevant skills and experience and are looking for your next step up the career ladder, then contact the Production Team at Premier Technical Recruitment on or email your cv in the strictest confidence to for further details.
