My client is a leading software house in the gambling and online gaming sector. Their West London office is a state of the art purpose built glass construction boasting a lake and waterfall outside. On the inside they offer a dress down environment, open-plan airy development area with multiple scrum areas. There are chill out areas with pool tables, table football, games consoles and sofas. They also have an onsite gym and swimming pool which you get at a subsidised rate. Their environment is designed to get the very best out of their staff.
Responsibilities
• Report to the Product Director and take ownership of key in house products
• Oversee all activities and functions associated with your products
• Define and specify product functionality
o Work closely with users, UI designers and technical teams to produce specifications for products that deliver on functionality, value, future proof designs and product ‘elegance’
o Competitor analysis and industry trends should be analysed and feed into the roadmap
• Define product roadmaps
o Communicate with users, business stakeholders and internal technical teams
o Product business cases for product features
• Ensure products are properly documented and have comprehensive training materials
• Ensure products behave consistently across the full platform
• Ensure that products:
o Can be, and are, maintained as single code-base products across all operators
o Can be easily deployed and maintained
o Can be supported through monitoring, logging, documentation, etc.
o Are scalable and high performance
The candidate must have
• The ability to work unsupervised and to prioritise and manage their own workload.
• The ability to understand all the phases of the life-cycle of a project.
• Good people management skills including negotiation skills
• Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
o The ability to communicate clearly and concisely at both a technical and business level and to translate concepts between the two levels.
o Experience producing presentations, proposals and business cases
o The ability to create consensus around an agreed course of action and ensure buy-in from both the customer and our team.
• Experience interacting with customers and business stakeholders.
o The ability to quickly build relationships with customer and third party contacts.
o The ability to seek and accept advice and feedback and change a solution based on feedback received.
• Good knowledge of large-scale website architectures and technology stacks.
• Experience with various development methodologies: Agile, TDD or Waterfall.
• Excellent analytical skills
• Ability to multi-task and rapidly switch contexts
• 5+ years of experience with web applications
• 2+ years of Product Management experience
