They are looking for a Product Development Actuary to assist the Senior Product Development Actuary with the research, design, development and source of profitable new products which will add value to the company.
Job Description
• Assist the Senior Product Development Actuary with the research, design, development and source of profitable new products
• As and when required undertake price reviews of key products
• Develop our approach to Products in line with market demands and expectations
• Liaise and negotiate with Reassurers over Reinsurance and new product initiatives
• Research new product propositions and recommend development of profitable products
• Review and recommend our approach to new product areas
• Manage the profit testing of both new and existing products, ensuring that the profitability characteristics are understood and documented
• Liaise / negotiate with external parties, including actuarial resource, to support developments and projects as required
• Undertake project management / liaison on developments / projects
• To assist, as required, the Senior Product Development Actuary in ensuring that product illustrations comply with FSA requirements, including those within marketing literature, illustrations software, non standard illustrations and new business systems
• Liaison / negotiation with external parties, including actuarial resource, to support developments and projects as required
• Project management / liaison on developments / projects
• Assisting the Senior Product Development Actuary in coordinating regular Product Steering meetings, including the timely issue of papers and minutes
• Agreeing concessionary terms to support wider corporate and marketing objectives, in line with the Business Development Concessions Authority Mandate
Person Specification
• Qualified actuary (or equivalent) with post qualification experience
• Good technical knowledge
• Range of other actuarial experiences
• Actuarial systems experience (ideally includes PROPHET)
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ideally some management experience
• Ability to think strategically
