My Client is a Blue Chip name in the FMCG Industry and are looking for a Process Chemist to join their team.

The main objetive of this role is to support the manufacturing operation with regard to improving manufacturing process, process batch control, raw material and finished product specification compliance; and to support the Quality assurance and Procurement teams with the approval of raw materials and cost down initiatives.

The main duties of the role are:

-To assist the Technical Quality Manager and Laboratory Supervisor with the training of process laboratory staff where appropriate.
-Provide support to the Factory and Production activities, including process improvements and controls
-To drive Cost down activities
-In conjunction with the Company R&D Chemists, approve alternative raw materials and maintain Raw material specifications.
-To take ownership of the Datastor process management system and manage its maintenance and control. 
-Input into Sage & Datastor plus maintenance of Technical files
-Label and artwork approval including INCI listings
-Participate in the Company Stock Code generation process
-Participation in regular formulation review meetings with production staff
-Perform analysis of results and data and report on any trends / process improvements identified
-Manufacturing Support
-Checking the Data Sheets and Hazard classification of raw materials. (Our suppliers have a responsibility to do this for us, but this needs to be controlled and implications addressed).
-Performance of Physical and chemical testing to evaluate transport classification of new products or changes to existing products
-Performance of sample analysis  and supporting procedures
-Assist with compatibility testing of new products
-Carry out "where used" checks to assess impact of any RM / formulation changes
-To participate in and contribute to specific Project work
-Provide technical support for the process Lab technicians

The ideal person for this role will be a qualified Chemist with experience in a manufacturing environment and will be skilled in analytical chemistry techniques such as FITR. They should also have experience of operating in a regulated environment.
