Software Controls Engineer - HMI, PLC - USA Boston, MA / /NH/ VT/ ME

Company: Leading renewable energy manufacturer - New Product Technology

Help design, develop and manufacture of a range of products for the renewable energy sector.

Role: Develop software requirements, software specifications & software integration of electrical controls and components development for Large scale industrial machines.

Develop software needed for POC electrical, electronic, electro-mechanical, communications and controls hardware for use in research or automated systems.

Software architecture and design of electro-mechanical and pneumatic motion systems, electro-optical, pick-and-place robotics and fluid dispense mechanisms.

-Recommend control devices such as PLC's operator interfaces, sensors, pneumatics wireless communications etc.

-Controls programming, commissioning of sites, loop installations

-Code and debug programmable logic controllers PLC's operator interface HMIs, embedded controller and computers.

-Design, build, install, and debug electrical components of automated equipment.

-Troubleshooting hardware-software integrations and HMI interfaces.

Experience :

·Computer Science or Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Degree Essential

·Commercial experience as a Controls Engineer

·Large scale project experience / real world machines

·ANSI-C, IEC for automation applications (eg B&R, HMI software development and electronic circuitry)

Plus any of:

·LabView programming

·ANSI-C computer language

·Embedded C

·Embedded software development and hands-on hardware development skills

Advantage to have any of the following:

·Full software development life cycle, software testing, Structured design methodology

·Full product life cycle, Experience working within an MBD Team

·EPL and corresponding standards, J1939, CANopen

·RTOS

·Renesas microprocessor experience, eg RX family, HEW tool chain

·Assembler

·Perl, Python and/or Shell

·MISRA C development

·Power electronics experience

·Device Driver knowledge

Must be able to live and work in USA - MA /NH/ VT/ ME
