Personal Injury Legal Assistant - U.S Law Firm

Law firm in the United States seeks an enthusiastic and experienced legal assistant to work in their specialist practice in London.  The position involves a high degree of client and co-counsel contact. We act on behalf of plaintiffs to bring compensation claims against asbestos Trust funds based in the United States. Some travel at short notice may be required.

The applicant for this position must have a passion for clients and social justice, with a plaintiff background, and a sound knowledge of personal injury law. An understanding of asbestos litigation is highly desired. Extensive client experience and familiarity with computer systems and databases is essential.

 Duties will include:

• High degree of client contact, including contact with vulnerable clients and their families;
• Liaising with our co-counsel;
• Preparation of letters and some legal documents;
• Work in our client database;
• Some support of junior staff; and
• Daily administrative tasks.

• Extensive experience with clients in a plaintiff personal injury context;
• Knowledge of personal injury practice;

• Excellent telephone manner;
• Excellent administration and communication skills;
• Ability to work as part of a team and on one’s own;
• Sound knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
• Experience with database and data entry;
