PCB Assembly Production Operatives

Our Client near chippenham is seeking assembly operatives for their busy manufacturing plant.

  • Main responsibilities will be the assembly of printed circuit boards, including:
  • Identification of component values
  • Soldering (IPC standard)
  • Reading of engineering drawings, BOM’S and work instructions
  • Inspection of printed circuit boards, to visually confirm the correct assembly including:
  • Repair of printed circuit boards, including Soldering rework from conventional up to ultra fine pitch surface mount components
  • Repairing PCB tracks
  • Test of printed circuit boards,
  • Working to test specs from setting up the equipment, jigs and fixtures to following a defined test procedure using Automated Test Equipment or Bench Test Equipment
  • Identification of manufacturing faults and basic diagnosis of component level failures

The ideal candidate will have:-

•Previous experience of PCB work including BGA repair
•Good soldering skills (ideally IPC Level 3)
•Experience of Through-hole assembly and Through-hole multiple-leaded component orientation
•Experience of Electronic Component recognition and good colour definiation
•Experience of basic de-soldering techniques
•A good understanding of manufacturing processes and requirements
•Ability to follow written work instructions and read technical drawings and specifications
•Basic understanding of circuit diagrams.
•Ability to operate Power Supplies, Signal Generators, multi-meters, oscilloscopes
•Work under pressure and unsupervised
