My client one of the UK's leading marketing agencies is currently looking to recruit an experienced Payroll Assistant to their head office based in Prestbury on a temp to perm contract.

Overview

Supporting the Payroll Manager across 10 different payrolls all ranging between 30-280 accounts the successful candidate will be responsibly for the processing of approx 600 accounts and all administration around these.

Key Responsibilities

Set up initial records for joiners and calculate the amount due to them in the first month.

Work out leavers’ final payments including any accrued holiday entitlement as well as redundancy figures/ entitlements/ administration as required.

Calculate alterations to contracts re salaries on a timely basis

Generate and distribute P45’s

Work on accounting schedules and nominal postings

Maintain computer staff records

Calculate and pay maternity pay

Calculate manual salary payments when necessary

Deal with PAYE and associated payroll queries from staff

Deal with mortgage and loan references for staff

Deal with post employment enquiries from DWP

Ensure prompt payment of staff referral bonuses and long service awards

Maintain all records and reports to ensure continued Sarbanes Oxley compliance

Issue pension scheme booklets and statements

Assist in supplying renewal data annually in April to include life assurance schedule

Key Skills Required

Demonstrable payroll experience and be highly numerate

Excellent computer literacy with specific experience in Excel

Sage experience is essential and PeopleSoft experience would be a distinct advantage

Current knowledge of PAYE, NI and statutory maternity rights

Excellent communication and organisation skills

Exceptional attention to detail

This role is looking someone able to commit to an immediate start with the potential of developing into a permanent contract if suitable.
