Organisation Description

Our client requires a part qualified actuary to contribute to the provision of actuarial advice to the Board by providing input to a range of actuarial processes.

The main focus of this role is expected to be actuarial calculation work although the responsibilities will include non-analytical work as well.

Job Description

Main Responsibilities:

# Quantitative modelling
# Provide actuarial input to the process underlying the supply of data for actuarial calculations, including checks and validation of that data.
# Liaise with other teams within the organisation, using actuarial skills to comment on financial implications and experience of pension schemes to bring a practical perspective to policy decisions.
# Provide training on actuarial matters to teams within the organisation.
# Prepare responses to actuarial queries received for both internal and external stakeholders
# Formally and informally provide coaching support and peer reviews work of more junior members of the Actuarial team.

Person Specification

Part Qualified Actuary with a proven track record of project management and excellent knowledge of the operation and valuation of pension scheme assets and liabilities. You should also demonstrate a clear understanding of the processes, procedures and policies surrounding the wind-up of a pension scheme.

Experience using Visual Basic for Applications within Excel and use of Prophet/ VIPitech or similar modelling software is essential.

This role will appeal to those with Experience within the pensions industry either in a consultancy, insurance company (including pricing of pension products) or company in-house pensions department.
