Operations Manager

Norbert Dentressangle Logistics UK has an opportunity for a Warehouse Operations Manager to join our senior management team in Mossend for one of our key clients who are a leading blue chip high street retailer.

The successful Operations Manager will oversee the activities of the operation and provide leadership to the management team to ensure service, performance and safety standards and targets are met in full and within budgetary confinements.

Main accountabilities to include but not be limited to:
Accurate and timely communication to the General Manager
Work with a high degree of autonomy and ensure that operational KPIs are met or exceeded Provide accurate, complete and timely reports outlining and explaining performance for the General Manager on a regular basis, and be prepared to deputise as and when required
Ensure the continuous development of Section Managers
Ensure that all aspects of H&S legislation and standards are adhered to and maintained
Contribute to and influence the preparation of quarterly cost budgets covering all aspects of operations
Control costs to beat the budget by diligent management of costs and productivity
Ensure that positive and progressive employee relations are maintained to include managing absence, performance and succession, and developing talent at all levels
Develop an effective working partnership with the client

The successful candidate will:
Be customer focused, operationally astute and be experienced in achieving objectives and operating to high standards via a team of Managers
Have the ability to demonstrate clear decision making skills
Demonstrate the ability to lead and develop the operation in terms of both the processes and colleagues
Have a flexible approach and be comfortable with taking the lead on major projects
Possess the skills to manage change within a unionised environment
Be proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
