Due to continued growth we are recruiting for an experienced qualified nursery practitioner to join the team. Room Leader Responsibilities

  • To be the main customer point of contact for the age group, develop and promote effective relationships
  • Undertake regular audits and inspections within the room to ensure high quality childcare and hygiene standards
  • Implement the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and room planning through the oversee, coordination and participation in activities
  • Responsible for ensuring all children’s development and progression logs are well maintained and accurate
  • Establish the development of good practice with regard to special needs, behaviour management and inclusion
  • Ensure the effective implementation of key worker systems to ensure children’s needs are met.
  • Ensure meal times are a pleasant and enjoyable experience for children
  • Responsible for performance management and up to the first level disciplinary and absence warnings
  • Support, supervise, motivate and give clear guidance to staff reports
  • Deputise for Nursery Manager as and when required

How you will be measured

  • Compliance with all Company policies and procedures
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Early Years Foundation Stage standard and curriculum
  • Compliance with regulatory bodies in relation to Health & Safety, EYFS, special needs and child protection
  • Able to demonstrate continued professional development
  • Good or excellent room evaluation rating
  • Positive customer feedback
  • Good safety record in the assigned room
  • Satisfactory completion of development and progress log books
  • Effective working relationships with colleagues

Skills and Knowledge

  • Experience of working in the capacity of a Room Deputy
  • A minimum of NVQ 3 in Childcare, or equivalent
  • Maths and English GCSE or equivalent
  • A current first aid at work qualification
  • A current food hygiene qualification
  • Experience of working in a private nursery across all age groups
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
