Job Description
- To deliver new business reporting to the board, senior management and senior business partners.
- To lead and manage the production of new business financial results for the UK business.
- To lead and manage the production of new business financial forecasts and plans, for the UK businesses.
- To lead the development and maintenance of the systems and processes needed to enable reporting, forecasting and planning of new business measures.
- Ensure full compliance with Technical Actuarial Standards
- Establish and maintain clear aligned relationships with Business Unit Finance Business Partners in a way that allows them clear accountability for their Business Unit’s new business numbers.
- Maintain professional relationships with the senior finance team to ensure business planning, forecasting and reporting operate efficiently and effectively.
- Manage the impact of integration or divestment of any significant change to business unit and group reporting structure, or methodology, so that it is integrated seamlessly and there is no disruption to the new business reporting processes.
- Management and development of the New Business Reporting team.
Person Specification
The successful candidate should have the following:
- Good level of technical knowledge of Group and Life Assurance (IFRS & MCEV)
- Good general experience of insurance environment, regulatory framework (FSA), solvency measures and actuarial principles
- Relevant financial experience
- Worked in the equivalent of a FTSE 100 company (in size and complexity)
- Good experience of trend analysis and risk impact assessment
- The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- The ability to lead, manage & motivate a team
