The successful applicant to the post of .NET Developer will have gained commercial experience in the full development lifecycle within the .NET framework and have key skills in VB.NET. Ideally candidates will have had some previous involvement with Mobile projects including developing bespoke applications for Android / Apple platforms
THE ROLE AND YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide Training to VB6 users on the transition to VB.NET
• Convert / Redesign existing VB6 Applications to VB.NET
• Create Software Applications for Mobile Devices
• Enhance and Develop new features across a variety of company websites including both standard and eCommerce sites
Convert existing VB6 Software to VB.NET
• Review of existing Software Application and decide if conversion or a rewrite is necessary.
• Provide programming assistance on new and exciting applications
• Database Integration to SQL and Oracle
• Interface to Oracle using Oracle Stored Procedures
Enhance and Develop new features across a variety of company websites including both standard and ecommerce sites
• Modification of current ecommerce sites to improve user experience
• Working with the Marketing Department on any Enhancements as necessary
EXPERIENCE:
• You have worked on projects involving C# or VB.NET, ASP.NET, XML/XSL, COM, DHTML, XAML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, Web services, SQL Server
• You may have experience using WPF, WCF, Entity framework, MVC and AJAX.
• Your background may include cross-platform experience giving you knowledge in areas like C++, Java, Linux, PHP, Apache, Tomcat, Python, Perl, Delphi, and MySQL.
• You have a passion to keep learning the latest technologies.
• You have a strong belief in your own ability and the confidence to face new challenges and increased responsibility over time.
• Varied IT development experience of at least 6 years has given you the confidence to suggest solutions to colleagues at all levels.
• Ability to produce clear functional and technical design documents plus experience of discussing technical designs and enjoy taking an active part in presentations/workshops.
The role requires good communication skills, excellent telephone manner and a positive attitude.
