My client is currently looking for a Senior Software Developer based in their Hampshire office. The developer will need to understand the business goals of the software under development; to participate in design, estimation and planning sessions as required; to develop new product features and functionality and software infrastructure as needed; to develop automated unit and integration tests; to conduct manual and exploratory testing as required.
The role will involve developing, enhancing and maintaining server-based applications to meet product requirements, the role demands the ability to design and implement solutions by writing reliable, performant and maintainable code. As a key member of the Development team, this individual will be significant contributor to the implementation of development projects.
The team follows the scrum methodology to execute their software development projects and the successful candidate will therefore join one of our existing scrum teams.
Candidates will need to have the right blend of technical, analytical and soft skills in order to successfully join a team of highly focused and dedicated professional software developers, analysts and managers, who operate in a demanding yet rewarding environment.
Primary Skills and Attributes:
* Expert knowledge of .Net development in C#
* Strong OO design skills essential
* Strong knowledge of SOAP, knowledge of RESTful services an advantage
* Working knowledge of XML, XSLT and XSD
* Working knowledge of SQL Server (oracle advantage)
* Working knowledge of the SQL query language including the creation of complex database queries and stored procedures
* Working knowledge of one or more web servers, particularly Microsoft IIS
* Working knowledge of Silverlight development an advantage
* Experience of working in environments with continuous integration (knowledge of AntHill or similar an advantage)
* Experience of Test Driven Development
Qualifications
* Degree level or equivalent qualification
* Possesses at least five years experience of developing server-based software for a commercial software vendor
* Familiarity with the Risk and Compliance business domain (e.g financial crime, financial control, compliance, risk and performance etc) advantageous
