1. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
- Adherence to Engineering procedure, safe systems of work and current legislation.
- Maintenance, repair and installation of all plant, machinery and services.
- Safe operation of engineering equipment and machinery.
- Completion of planned and preventative maintenance schedules and the relevant records of such activity.
- Achievement of productivity and service targets in order to meet the needs of the business.
Ideal candidate should be:
- Multi-skilled Engineer qualified to NVQ level 3 or equivalent
- IIE 16th Edition qualified
- Minimum of five years experience in a high volume manufacturing environment
- Able to read and understand engineering, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical drawings
- Sound, working knowledge of health and safety procedure and relevant legislation, preferably with an IOSSH certification
- Understand lean manufacturing tools and philosophy, preferably gained through experience of a continuous improvement environment
- PC literate, including Microsoft applications and bespoke business systems
- Customer focussed together with a quality and service driven approach
- Able to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels within the organisation and with outside suppliers
- Able to effect root cause analysis, fault finding and trouble-shooting activity
- Able to maintain machinery and equipment to a high standard
- Qualified FLT and Cherry-picker driver

- Offer advice and assistance to production operatives in order to promote best-practice and a greater understanding and awareness of engineering issues
- Effectively handover to opposite number at end and beginning of every shiftffectively communicate with all relevant personnel
- Maintain accurate maintenance records
- Attend meetings and reviews as and when required
