Job Description
Due to continued growth they are seeking an ELECTRICALLY BIASED FIELD ENGINEER to join the team.
Based from home but with good access to the companies head office in Bedford, you will be responsible for the PPM and service of the company’s range of machine tools for customers throughout the UK. Typically you could be involved in the commissioning, maintenance and repair of this equipment which includes maintenance of electrical systems, control panels, servos, drives and motors and inverters as well as some mechanical fault finding and maintenance. You will also have to work with PLC control systems. Repairs and servicing may take a number of days to complete so you may be required to occasionally spend weeknights away from home dependant on where the work takes place.
The clients include a variety of different industries from aerospace manufacture to steel stockholders to formula one racing teams so it is essential that you are confident and comfortable with dealing with clients at all levels in a variety of different sectors.
To be considered you would need to demonstrate:
• A recognised qualification in electrical engineering
• A recent background in the electrical service and repair of machine tools, heavy equipment or equipment used in the manufacturing sector.
• Knowledge of PLC’s (any language)
• A full drivers licence with no more than 3 penalty points
