Multi Skilled Production Engineer

The Role

Reporting directly to the Production Manager, the plant engineer will have the responsibility of ensuring that the bottling plant is fully maintained and running at full efficiency.  Experience of operating a planned maintenance system will be important, as will be the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.  The job will also include monitoring the performance of the line, analysing the results and suggesting and implementing improvements to the process. Day to day roles will involve fault finding, problem solving under pressure and breakdown cover.  During the summer months the plant will move to a two shift day and so some flexibility will be required to help provide cover during these shifts. Other duties will include holiday / sickness cover for line supervision and product changeovers. 

The Candidate 

The successful candidate will be a multi skilled engineer with experience of automated production machinery, ideally gained in the food or drink manufacturing industry. They must be a proactive individual able to work on their own initiative with excellent organisational skills. The successful applicant should have knowledge and skills in the following areas; 

Production line equipment - filling/labelling/packing and process machinery

Electrical systems - mainly low voltage control panels and small inverter drives.

Pneumatic systems

PLC's - fault finding Planned maintenance software.

Word / Excel. Workshop skills

A current counterbalance fork lift license would be an advantage
